OPPO A57 Smartphone with 3GB RAM & 16MP Selfie Camera Launched in China

OPPO became the largest smartphone manufacturer in China surpassing Huawei. Recently the company has launched the OPPO R9s and R9s Plus smartphones in China. The R9s Plus is the company’s first smartphone to feature 6GB of RAM. Both the devices come with 16MP cameras on front and back of the device. While the front camera comes with f/1.7 aperture, the rear camera sensor has f/2.0 aperture. Now, the company has launched a new smartphone called OPPO A57 in China. The device comes with an all-metal unibody design and looks similar to OPPO A59 which was launched in June this year.
The OPPO A57 sports a 5.2-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. For comparison, the OPPO A59 came with a larger 5.5-inch display with the same HD resolution. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 435 MSM8940 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. It includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally up to 128GB. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers Cat.7 LTE offering download speeds upto 300Mbps and upload speeds upto 100Mbps.

In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, and PDAF. For selfies, OPPO A57 sports a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and wide-angle lens. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The 2,900mAh non-removable battery on this device is rated to deliver 23.5 hours of talk time and lasts almost 300 hours on standby. As the OPPO smartphones support VOOC Flash Charge technology, the device will be charged faster than other smartphones with conventional power adapters. The physical home button on the front comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor.

Finally, OPPO has updated its Color OS to Android 6.0 Marshmallow while other manufacturers are updating their devices to Android 7.0 Nougat. The OPPO A57 measures 149.1 x x72.9 x 7.65 mm and weighs 147 grams. It will be available in Gold and Rose Gold color options. While the OPPO A59 is retailing at 1799 Yuan, the new OPPO A57 costs 1599 Yuan and will be on sale starting from December 12th. We don’t expect the company to launch this device in the Indian market anytime soon. A couple of weeks back, Vivo launched the Vivo V5 smartphone in India with a 20MP selfie camera. It is priced at Rs. 17,980 and is on sale starting from today.

While the earlier launched OPPO F1s in India came with slightly less powerful specifications, the company has updated its specifications to match up with the Vivo V5. The upgraded OPPO F1s comes in new Grey color and sports 4GB of RAM instead of 3GB. The internal storage is also doubled up from 32GB to 64GB. Rest of the specifications remain same as on the 3GB RAM variant. The new OPPO F1s costs Rs. 18,990 and is already available through retail stores across India. If the rumors are to be believed, next year we will see the launch of the true flagship smartphone, OPPO Find 9. It will be the successor to the year’s old OPPO Find 7 and Find 7a
