Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. Movie Review
After 'Amar Akbar Anthony'; one of the biggest hits of 2015, director Nadirshah, producer Dr. Zachariah Thomas and writers Bibin George & Vishnu Unnikrishnan come together under one roof to entertain Malayalam audience with Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan.
The movie that has humor, even in its title is co-produced by actor Dileep and has writer Vishnu Unnikrishnan in the lead role. The movie is touted to be National Award winner Salim Kumar's re-entry into showbiz. The actor, popular for his comic roles had kept away from films due to health issues.
Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan is a comedy entertainer that tells the story of a young man who dreams to become a movie star. Even though the film has a story that has been told many times on screen, the freshness and humor in the screenplay make it unique. Humor is the soul and is the highlight of the movie that also tells a beautiful message of not giving up. The direction is good and Nadirshah has improved greatly since his first film.
Vishnu Unnikrishnan who had earlier done small and cameo roles, shines as Kichu who is bullied by locals as Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. His timing is great and he matches up with comedy kings like Salim Kumar, Siddique, and Dharmajan, but he needs to improve a bit with his emotional acting. Lijomol Jose gives yet another lovely performance after Maheshinte Prathikaram. Siddique, Dharmajan and Salim Kumar provide great entertainment with their hilarious numbers and Prayaga Martin also does justice to her role. Actor Siju Wilson and Swasika deliver noteworthy performance in their cameo roles.
The cinematography by Shamdat is good and gels in with the mood of the movie. The director himself dons the role of music director and handles it pretty neatly. The background score by Bijibal also plays its part in making the film a good entertainer.
